Coordination Meeting

Didier delegated me to participate in the stamping coordination meeting at 2:30 this afternoon, buyers from different branchs and VEM director David are invited to the meeting, it's purpose is to share information about suppliers respecting stamping. Different branches have different products and different parts, but the category of the parts are similar,most of the parts may belongs to a category like die casting parts, plastic parts, stamping parts, turned parts, a supplier for one branch may have the ability to supply similar parts to another branch. That's why coordination meeting is held.

During the first section, action plan implementation status was checked and then started share information with specific supplier from sub category traditional stamping to fine blanking and fast cutting/stamping, for each sub category we have suppliers on business and potential suppliers. After basic information of all suppliers were shared, projects with suppliers in panel are checked if there is any news or problems exit.

It's my fist time to participate a formal business meeting, and my knowledge of our suppliers and projects are limited, most of the time I am a listener or audience. The essence of the meeting is in fact simple and easy, once your are in charge of some suppliers and projects, you can do it well.

Finished my internship report today, I made two copies, then I can keep one after the original is hand in I can still keep one for memory or other usage.

WangQiang is Back

It was raining heavily when I got on my bike at the Dongcuam station, when I rode with one hand on the wheel and another holding an umbrella, I just wanted to get to the dorm as soon as possible, Bing has bought dinner for me, I imagined that I can start my supper immediately after I step into the dorm as usual.But the fact is that I was deeply disappointed. When I was still meters away from the door of my dorm, I smelled a very strange and disgusting smell, then I reallized that WangQiang is back, maybe I should have known that and get prepared so that I won't be so surprized and disappointed. Now the fan is on its full running, though it's a little cold even the fan is still. I don't know when will that disgusting smell be gone, but I'm sure that tonight will be a tough night. Hey ,buddy, can't you just care about others a little bit?

Summary of the 7th Week in Valeo

    The past five days was the most exciting days of all my days in Valeo, for twice, I had chance to visit our supplier, and we had our 

salary for the first six weeks paid. On Tuesday morning, Qiu Le's chief technician with his driver picked Viviane and Nestor at their 

apartment and me at the gate of our office building, after an hour's driving, we arrived Qiule in Nanhui District. Nestor discussed some 

dimensional problems was Roger, chief technician in Qiule, he is the only person speaks English in Qiule. The measurement system of VES Brazil 

and Qiule are different, Nestor detected about 10 percent defectives in his production line in Brazil using electronic equipment. Qiu Le 

believe their defective rate is absolutely not that high cause they narrowed the tolerance range of specification, though their measuring 

equipment may not so precise as Nestor's in Brazil. Nestor tried to push Qiule buy the same measurement system as VES Brazil, but it's too 

expensive for Qiule. Currently Qiule is using air measure equipment, the precision resolution is one micron. After discussed for a morning and 

afternoon, no resolution agreement was reached; Nestor and Viviane had to check with their boss in Brazil. Qiule has special dinning room for 

guests, they have cooks and kitchen there, and we had a wonderful lunch in that room. Evening dinner was taken in a restaurant in the middle 

of that town, also very delicious. Qiule supplies alternator shafts and starter pinions, most of their machines are manually operated, only 

finish machining are processed on CNC machines. Because it's hard for them to control the process quality, so they have their finished parts 

100 percent inspection to guarantee the quality of their supply to Valeo. That's the original stage of quality management: inspection 

afterwards.

 

  On Thursday, Viviane, Nestor and I visited Huabiao, a supplier produces standard mounting parts like blots, nuts, screws, keys in Pudong 

District. Like Qiule, they have only one person can speak English fluently. This time we don't have much problems there, just some documents 

should be hand to Brazil, Nestor asked them to give the date that they can finished those docs. In Huabiao, inspection department seems have 

most of the workers. They got several machines with each machine a operator, but they have nine or ten inspectors in that inspection room, that

's because their products are all little or tiny parts, a large amount is always demanded by their customers, but they don't have the 

capability to control the process, so they use 100% inspection to control the quality. People there are very kind; they booked a room in a 

wonderful restaurant in Nanjing road, the dinner was really wonderful. Huabiao is building a new site near their current one, but they may 

have potential problems because 70 percent of their business is done with SVES. 

 

Tomorrow Will Go to Qiule

Liyu is back today,he has resigned, came back to pack his staff, I sitted in front of Vivian and Nestor, tomorrow they will go to Qiule to do process audit, they asked if I would like to go, of course I want to go, got Didier's permission much easier than I thought.

Make Your Own Judgement

   Yesterday afternoon, Didier checked the product board,I did it according to the list Frederique given to me, some codes are definetely wrong, I knew that, but I never though I could change that with my own judgement, I just did it as it is on the paper.When theck the contents of the label, many mistakes are found, I knew there were many mistakes when I made it. But I didn't think I can correct those mistakes, maybe they are not my mistakes, I just got it from others, even I knew it might be wrong, I didn't think about finding the root and correct it.

 

   "Don't learn by memory, try to make your own judgement!" Didier seems a little disappointed. For a long time since I was in primary school, we were educated  that teachers and experts are always right, we seldom challenge them. That's why few of us possess  creative think and innovation.

 

  Make your own judgement and have your own minds. That's the third lesson I have in Valeo.

 

Going Insane

  I'm going insane,  yesterday I received the certificate number to access that database portal, today I asked that IT  guy helped installed the liscense,  after that I have to send a application for account to access the portal, I tried  again and again, but the  notes goes down again and again ,I have to restart my laptop again and again....Maybe the reason is the server is in France, now staff in France are at work and the remote sever becomes hard to access. I just want to throw this pathatic laptop  into the garbage room and never use it again.
 
  This week I spent almost  no time on learning French, but opened by Chinese blog, it's getting  more and more boring, god, give an end to this !or kill me!
